Its summer! And by summer, we mean lazy days ahead. Gone are those days. Here’s what you should do to keep yourself on the hook.

1. Have your checklist reviewed

This summer, make use of your time by reflecting on the things that happened and not. Plan the year ahead. It’s a good time to do annual review of what you learned, achieved and missed out. At this point, you should be able to point out which ones are stuck in the moment. Doing this on a day when you’re not so much busy will help you implement what you’ve set for yourself.

2. Read

Most of us read less due to time constraints and other things we consider more important. Summer is the best time to do readathon of the books we promised ourselves to read. Building a daily reading time will help you stick to it and make it a habit. No matter how old you are, there’s always something more to learn.

3. Do your annual budget review

If you’ve been wondering where all your money went, now is a good time to go over your expenses and see which ones you can cut off. You might be surprised to see why a large percentage of your money goes to unimportant things. Assess your needs vs. wants and discover how you can save as much.

4. Get in touch with the nature

Take a break – a real one. It’s good to reward ourselves with all the good work we’ve done from time to time. There are so many places where you can go. If you don’t want long hours of travel, Tagaytay, Nuvali and Bulacan are places where people go to. If you are planning to stay for quite some time, Zambales, Bataan and other good places in Visayas region won’t definitely fail you.

5. Give back to the community

It’s a different kind of happiness knowing you’ve helped someone. Giving back doesn’t necessarily mean money. You can do volunteer work, teach, encourage and inspire.
