Best Ways to Reward Your Employees

Homerun Nievera, Negosentro.comThere’s nothing better for your employees’ morale than having their hard work recognized and appreciated. There are many ways of rewarding your employees and showing them that you appreciate their engagement and effort. If you don’t know how to show your gratitude, here are a couple of ideas.

Company-branded gear

You can always reward your best employees with some company-branded gear, but make sure the gear you’re planning to give is useful and cool. Don’t give your employee of the week a pen with the company logo on it. It feels cheep and reflects poorly on both you and your company. Make sure to give them something tasteful, useful and of high quality, maybe even some limited edition item. You can also get something made and personalized for that person, and they will appreciate the gesture and think about the company every time they look at their reward.

The best parking spot

There is always that one parking spot that everyone wants. It’s the closest to the entrance, concealed from the sun and super convenient. If your company has a designated parking area, make sure to reserve that special spot for the employee of the month. This can be a great reward, and it’ll cost you nothing.

Movie premiere, concert or festival tickets

Event tickets are a great way to reward your team. If there’s some special event coming up and you know your employees would love to go, tickets for that event could be an excellent reward for the best team.

Time off

Time is one of the most valuable things in our lives and it’s something you can never get back. But what if you could? Reward your best employees with some time off– a long lunch, extra break, early release or even a free day. Having a long lunch will prepare them for a stressful afternoon and make them super productive. And do you remember the joy of an early release when you were in school? Well, nothing has changed. No matter how much they love their job, some time away from the office will still count as a huge reward.

The Morphing Trophy

This one will not cost you much money at all (because you only need one trophy for the whole team) and it will be super fun. Get a trophy or an award and give it to the employee that deserved recognition that week. At the end of the week they need to return it, but with something written, tied or glued to it. The award then goes to the next winner of the week and so on. At the end of the year, you will end up with a trophy full of memories and it will look hilarious. Put the award in your reception area and repeat everything with a new award. There are many different types of rewards you can choose from, such as crystal awards, trophies, plates or trays. Just make sure that the one you get can handle 52 things added to it without tipping over.

Gift cards

Sometimes the best thing you can do is let your exemplary employees choose their own gift. You can get them gift cards for different things, like a spa day, free coffee or meal, or a gift card for some new clothes or shoes. Your employee will choose what they really need and you’ll know that the gift won’t go to waste.

A team lunch

This reward will give you an opportunity to spend some casual time with your team and get to know everyone a little better. Treat your team to a lunch and don’t forget to say a few words about their amazing performance before you dig in.

Rewarding your employees will not only make them feel good, but it’ll also benefit your company and you as their boss. Make sure you choose the winner objectively and be sincere when handing them their award.
