Negosentro, via Nardz Antonio, News Writer | Digital Bank pioneer and leader EON Philippines has recently formalized its partnership with Multisys in an event that included the PLDT Group’s top honcho, Manny V. Pangilinan, in simple ceremonies at the Multisys Google-like complex in Parañaque City.
The deal allows EON Banking to expand its billing partners to more than 1,900 under the Multisys system. The same system is used by other banks and Bayad Center.
Multysis CEO, David Almirol, was excited of the partnership as it allows them to make their system available to more banks, and to EON, as the leader in digital banking in the Philippines.
EON, who was represented by Unionbank’s Chut Santiago, EVP and Chief Mass Market and Financial Inclusion Executive, and EON Head, Paolo Baltao (SVP), were all-smiles with the opportunity for their customers to have EON as their one-stop shop in bills payment.
EON Philippines & Multisys Partnership with Eplayment
On-hand to grace the partnership event were Eplayment executives Karlos Naidas (CEO) and Homer Nievera (Chief of Strategy), being partners of both entities. Eplayment has partnered with Multisys on their payment technology and with EON for their esports league and roll-out of their Debit Card for gamers.
Naidas said that both companies are valuable partners given their leadership in their respective fields – Multisys as a force in payment systems and EON as the Philippines’ pioneer and leader in digital banking.
Nievera revealed that Multisys, 45.7% of which was acquired by the PLDT for 2.15 Billion pesos last year, is the exclusive technology partner of Eplayment in establishing a multi-platform for the gaming and eSports community. It includes a marketplace and payment gateway that will connect gamers to the Eplayment account powered by the Philippines’ digital bank leader EON.
This tripartite project with Eplayment and Multisys pushes EON closer into achieving its vision of becoming the preferred bank for the broader mass market. Currently, EON offers a suite of deposits, loans, and payment products, digitally through its website and app, complemented by co-branding partnerships and agent branches nationwide, backed by the strength and stability of Union Bank of the Philippines.
