Negosentro| How To Use Remote Working To The Advantage of Your Business |Working remotely can provide a lot of benefits for companies and employees. Whether you run a small business or a large corporation, you can take your team online and be successful. Here are a few ways to use remote working to your company’s advantage.

1. Let Employees Set Their Schedules

When possible, do your best to allow employees to work when they’re most productive. Of course, there may be times when an entire team needs to hop on a video call for a meeting.

However, for certain projects, like writing marketing campaigns or designing graphics, give your team some wiggle room. If one person is a morning bird, let them get more work done before lunch. And if someone else is more of a night owl, let them sleep in a bit when it makes sense.

2. Set Firm Boundaries

You and your employees should all figure out how to set boundaries. Whenever you do your work, you need to separate it from your home life as best as possible. So set a schedule, tell your family that’s when you’re working and that they shouldn’t bother you. If you have an extra room, make that your office so that you can close the door. And be sure to tell your employees this too so that they can implement boundaries in their work.

3. Use Slack and Email

Slack is a group messaging platform for businesses, and it’s a great way to keep up with your coworkers throughout the day. You can create different channels for individual teams to communicate on projects so that you stay on track. Email can also work well for updates, but it’s not as easy to write short messages back and forth. Use email for longer updates or for more formal memos. That way, your employees can flag the email and find it easily rather than searching through a long list of Slack messages.

4. Outsource Administrative Tasks

If you make most of your employees work remotely, don’t be afraid to outsource administrative tasks. You can hire an assistant on the other side of the country since their location won’t matter. Another great position to outsource is social media marketing. There are tons of tools for social media management, and you can find a freelancer who knows how to use those programs. Then, you can still make sure your social media presence is growing and doing well, but you won’t have to spend so much time on it within your company.

Outsourcing certain tasks can help you save money. You won’t have to worry about hiring someone full-time, so you won’t need to pay for a benefits package, and you can hire people when you need them.

5. Downsize Your Office

Once you and your employees start working remotely, you can downsize your office. You can sell or donate old desks and office chairs, and you can move into a smaller office space. If your entire company is working remotely, you can get rid of your office and work from home or a co-working space. That can save you tons of money, and you won’t have to worry about paying for electricity or water when no one is using those things.

Even if some people are working in person, you can still move to a smaller office. You’ll be able to get a cheaper lease, so you can invest more of your money into other areas of your business.

6. Ask for Feedback

After you and your team have been working remotely for a while, ask for their feedback. People love getting to share their opinion, and it’s even better when you can take those opinions to heart. Don’t be afraid to ask your employees how they like working remotely or what they don’t like about it. See what you can do to fix the problem. And if someone doesn’t like working remotely and you still have a small office, let the move back in.

You can’t always please every employee, but you can set them up for success when working remotely. Keep these things in mind to keep your employees and business successful.
