Negosentro.com | Husband and Wife Entrepreneur Success Stories | I don’t know about you, but it’s difficult for me to imagine spending all day working with my significant other only to come home and see them waiting on the couch. Call me crazy, but I like to keep my personal and professional lives separated.

Still, these husband and wife teams seem to be running on all cylinders in both worlds without missing a beat, breaking the classic faux pas, ‘don’t mix business with pleasure’ with some success.

Of course, it’s not always that easy. Many husband and wife teams who start businesses together end up moving apart because of the constant stress and conflict that comes with any start-up.

Still, if you’re out there trying to mix love with business and struggling, hopefully these three husband and wife entrepreneur success stories can give you the hope and inspiration to stick with it.

Will & Will

Will & Will is a Seattle personal injury and criminal defense practice started by husband and wife duo, Court and Michelle Will. The pair first met while both were working in Southern California on opposing sides of the law. Court was a defense attorney, Michelle was the Deputy District Attorney for the County of San Bernardino. They struck up a romance and shortly after getting married Michelle joined her husband’s defense practice and the two formed Will & Will.

Success came quickly as the strong reputation of the husband and wife duo led to a constant stream of business. Then, Court and Michelle decided to make the move up to Seattle back to Court’s roots in the Pacific Northwest.

It didn’t take long for Will & Will to establish itself as a leading criminal defense practice in the Pacific Northwest. These days Michelle and Court have expanded their business services becoming a leading Seattle personal injury attorney practice as well. It seems nothing can stop this high-powered husband and wife duo.

Lucy & Co.

Lucy & Co. is a dog clothing and merchandise company founded by husband and wife duo, Ahmed El Shourbagy and Ashley Paguyo El Shourbagy. It all started for the El Shourbagys when Ahmed’s instagram pet project, @dogsofinstagram began to take off.

After getting thousands of likes and shares on their instagram channel the couple decided to form a dog clothing business to help monetize their success. Since then the business has been thriving and the El Shourbagys’ relationship has only grown.

Ashley wrote a great blog about the challenges and rewards of husband and wife entrepreneurship that anyone interested in this topic should check out. The advice in the piece is priceless for all you future or current entrepreneurs out there, especially those starting a business with their partner.

Lucy & Co. is now a successful business and the El Shourbagys have enough to give back to the community that has helped them so much, donating hundreds of leashes and bandanas to rescue shelters and even putting 100% of their proceeds on #nationalpetday and #nationaldogday toward non-profit charities. Now that’s a husband and wife success story.

Emmy’s Organics

Emmy’s Organics is an organic cookie company run by husband and wife duo, Samantha Abrams and Ian Gaffney. When the couple first got together, instead of watching Netflix like most couples the pair would make cookies in Ian’s mom Emmy’s kitchen.

When the relationship really began to blossom Abrams and Gaffney decided they would start their own organic cookie company dishing out the delicious homemade treats cooked up in Emmy’s kitchen to a wider audience. They also decided right off the bat they wanted to make organic, gluten free cookies that everyone could enjoy.

Emmy’s is now a Certified B Corporation as well. Meaning they are legally required to consider the impact of their business decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. This husband and wife duo is focused not only on success in love and business, but also in making the world a better place by setting the example as a business that cares.

It’s clear mixing business with pleasure can work, at least in the right situations. Of course, there will be challenges and there will be fights, but at the end of the day those will only make you stronger as a couple and as a business if you can keep the right mindset. So if you’re thinking about mixing business with pleasure, don’t be afraid to give it a shot, you never know how successful you might be.
