TODAY, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), in partnership with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, unveils its 20th Anniversary Commemorative Medal in ceremonies at the EDSA Shangri-la Hotel in Mandaluyong City.
Made of 89 percent copper, five percent aluminum, five percent zinc and one percent tin, the medal is 34 millimetres in diameter, 2.4 millimetres thick and weighs 15 grams.
Inscribed in the medal’s obverse side is “20 years” representing PhilHealth’s 20th year of providing every Filipino family with financial protection against health risks.
The number ‘0’ is represented by clasping hands of people from all walks of life, symbolizing PhilHealth’s universality, and articulating its theme, “Ensuring Universal Coverage for All Filipinos.”
In the semi-circle along the top edge of the inner part of the medal is the inscription ‘Philippine Health Insurance Corporation’ and the years 1995-2015 are also inscribed at the bottom edge of the medal.
