Pinterest recently rolled out its Promoted Video, Pinterest’s new video ads service that will pave the way for changes in small businesses.

Although other social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter already have some form of video advertising for business users, Pinterest’s Promoted Video might make it the top choice for boosting sales via video ads.

Mike Bidgoli, product manage at Pinterest claims that there are over 100 million people around the world that use Pinterest every month. He says that 55 percent of these users shop for pinned products and that  67 percent are saying that Pinterest videos are playing a huge role in influencing how they engage with brands and the purchases that users make.

Bidgoli adds that Pinterest does more than just display video ads, as these are coupled with pinned posts below the video.

Pinterest’s Promoted Video gives users a more interactive experience and offers more ways to discover new products. Bare Minerals a cosmetics brand uses makeup tutorials as their Promoted Video, and then adds the products being used as featured Pins below the video so customers can easily find and purchase them. Thus, creating more ROI for brands who use Pinterest as part of their digital marketing strategies.

Pinterest’s native video player lets users watch video ads and seamlessly browse featured Pins without leaving the website or the Pinterest mobile app.

The new Pinterest feature allows businesses to share their ideas with the people who are looking for them and make it easy for them to give these ideas a try,”

It’s just too bad that Pinterest Promoted Video is only available in the U.S. and U.K. Let’s hope that this feature will also be used by businesses in the Philippines soon.
