Samsung Galaxy S9 Smartphone Review

Samsung Galaxy S9 is a minor update to the excellent Galaxy S8. But, Galaxy S9 is still an amazing phone available at a more attractive price. And, it is an affordable alternative to Google Pixel 3 and iPhone XS.  The phone has a great design, amazing camera and handy features like water-resistant body and Qi charging.

Samsung made this huge move by changing its phone’s design. It is replaced by a larger screen pushed right to its edges. A much-needed change to compete with other phones in the market.  The phone has quite a familiar look but it is not the slickest phone than S8. The S9 is thick above and below the display. Also, the fingerprint scanner has moved to a new place below the camera.

The phone has metal and glass body retaining its curved display. The screen is coated with Gorilla Glass 5 and it has been thickened.  Also, the aluminium rim has been strengthened.  You will also find a Bixby button below the volume rocker. Samsung S9’s 5.8-inch screen is an AMOLED quad HD+ panel and it has changed a bit and has a little bump in brightness. The best screen in Samsung phones till now is in S9.

What impresses the users more is the customization options offered. In the default ‘adaptive’ mode, the screen colours are saturated and rich, with a dominant blue hue. The user can switch to another DCI-P3 colour gamut which covers the screen in cinematic mode. AMOLED Cinema mode makes everything look lifelike and easier on the eyes.  Even, you can customize colours by reducing the amount of red, blue and green.

The phone fully supports HDR10 and S9 can stream HDR content from other sources like Netflix and Amazon Prime. The phone enables these streams to use a wider gamut of colours and also with great contrast. Like if you watch any programme that features dark scenes, you will notice the difference.  The blue light filter mode makes the screen much better for viewing before sleeping by turning on the warm colours. The mode can be scheduled automatically to turn on every night.

Battery life on the new Samsung Galaxy S9 is almost exactly the same as last year’s S8. Even with the switch to a more efficient mobile chip, it’s a shame Samsung hasn’t really been able to squeeze any more juice from the 3000mAh battery.

The new Samsung Galaxy S9 again proves to be a gorgeous phone with a 5.8-inch screen, dual-curved design and terrific camera that even clicks great pictures in the night time. So, the shots can never go wrong. The phone looks stunning in the shades of purple and blue. If you are planning to buy this new phone buy it from the website using Walmart Promo code to avail discounts. The phone is completely a nice upgrade from S8 and is a game changer. It is overall a great upgrade for the android users.
