Whether you are a budding artist or young in the business, you need inspiration to think of brilliant ideas for your tasks. If you need a bit of refresher, here are ways to find inspiration.
1. Review contents of brands
Look for stories of trusted brands and what you like. Search and follow their social media accounts. Observe what kind of posts they do. If they’re promoting an event, go, you need to find inspiration from brands that has been in the business for years.
2. Save and bookmark stories
Social media is the fastest and go-to source to collect inspiration. Once you signed up in Pinterest, you will constantly and can easily pin and save web content on your desired order. As usual, Facebook is your source of random contents of your friends. Instagram and Twitter is very fast-paced as well. Save videos that people share that you know it would be helpful. There are a lot of infographic articles now on social media, keep on collating what you need in the future.
3. Magazines, books and newspapers
Don’t you love the smell of freshly printed spreadsheets and crisp pages of magazines, books and newspapers? Believe it or not, it’s one of the best sources to finding inspiration. Newspapers have legit sources of current events, magazines come up with good features. Then books, novel or not, it is most likely well-written that will inspire you.
4. Travel
Who doesn’t love travelling? Even companies do team-building activities out-of-town so they are not just stuck in the four walls of their building. For most of us, the first thing that comes into mind in the word “travel” is flying away, however, travelling is not limited to that. Why not take a bus when you always ride train? Or take a walk than riding a tricycle.
5. Music
Ahh..music, it makes us smile, cry, or dance to its rhythm. Many researches shared that music is a good simulator to motivate a person. Coordinate your choice of playlist according to what you are planning to do. If you’re trying to conceptualize an art project, do listen to something slow but not to snooze you off. Or stay away from metal rock. Sometimes it really depends on your character as well, you should know what music gets you into the mood.
6. Photography/Museum-hopping
This is probably a cliché already but we can’t help suggesting this. Maybe you could try noticing other angles when you visit museums, not only the artworks displayed, it could be the structure of the museum, its architecture and all that. Anything that you can observe can inspire you. Search for exhibits around town, check what the local artists are up to.
