Mandala Park Weekend Market celebrated their 5th installment in partnership with the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement.  This month’s weekend market theme is about promoting the “love for local” and they features different merchants with their locally source craft produce products. One of these is the Yakang Yaka Barter.

Yakang Yaka Barter is a social enterprise led by Kelly Marian Mortensen. Their goal is to help an indigenous community in Mindanao – Yakans. They are known for their traditional hand weaving. Knowing that it’s hard to have a job in the community, Yakang Yaka helps them to have a livelihood by producing their products and selling it on the city. Also, to promote the traditional hand weaving locally and international.
